When an actor plays two parts in the same play/performance, the second one is typically listed in the program as being played by “George Spevlin.”

This traditional theatrical name appeared first in the program for “Brewster’s Millions” in 1906, a play by Winchell Smith based on a novel by George Barr McCutcheon.

And how many of you thought I was going to say it was based on the Richard Pryor movie?
