Topless saleswomen are legal in Liverpool, England – but only in tropical fish stores.

In Maryland, it is illegal to sell condoms from vending machines — with one exception: prophylactics may be dispensed from a vending machine only “in places where alcoholic beverages are sold for consumption on the premises.”

Men can read smaller print than women; women can hear better than men.

Scientists say the average person eats about 2 pounds of bugs a year. That’s mostly because insects accidentally get ground up in foods like peanut butter, strawberry jelly, and spaghetti sauce. They won’t hurt you, they’re actually full of protein.

Officially, the space shuttle program was known as the Space Transportation System (STS).

The first shuttle was actually the Space Shuttle Orbiter Enterprise, named after the famous star ship in the Star Trek television series. It was a drop-test vehicle released from a Boeing 747 in midflight.  Enterprise made five successful free-flight tests prior to Columbia’s history-making maiden flight into space.
